The motion alarm produces an audible alarm should the drive mechanism fail in any way. The alarm resets automatically upon resumption of motion, and may be silenced with an override button on the back panel. The optional remote alarm jack is a 1/4" phone jack located on back of unit. If the operating speed drops to zero or rises above 502rpm , a normally open (n-o) dry relay contact will close to activated a remote alarm. This is a signal only; customer must provide his own alarm system. (e.g. Light, buzzer, etc). The contact limits are 1 amp at up to 125vac or dc. These alarm points are non-latching & non-fail safe, and are not intended to provide process monitoring, (use the rs-485 port for monitoring. - see any process models). They are intended to provide a remote signal if the equipment exceeds the design speed range while operating. External connections are made to the tip & ring circuits of the supplied phone jack. The shell (ground) connection is not used.
