Lab Beakers

Lab beakers assist with stirring, mixing, measuring, heating liquids, and general laboratory safety.

Scientific beakers are available in various materials, including glass, polypropylene, quartz, and stainless steel. Beaker types available include griffin beakers or low-form beakers suitable for measuring and containing liquid samples. Sizing options include 1ml beaker, 10ml beaker, and 1000ml beaker, accommodating for a range of measuring tasks within the lab. Glass lab beakers offer the ability to be heated at higher temperatures than their plastic counterparts and offer excellent clarity for visibility of the content and measuring with ease. Graduated glass beakers have uniform wall thickness and a spout for easy pouring.

Glass beakers also carry graduated markings on the side, making them easy to read during specific applications. Benefit from colored markings on most available scientific beakers, which are suitable for labeling, organizing, and managing all samples with ease.

Other relevant poducts also available at Thomas Scientific are wide mouth bottles and erlenmeyer flasks.

What is a low form beaker?

A low-form (or a Griffin-style beaker) is a common lab beaker with a wide base and shorter height than a standard "tall form" beaker. Its design offers greater stability, making it less likely to tip over, and it is ideal for mixing, stirring, and heating substances.

The beaker’s wider mouth allows easier pouring and access with stirring rods or instruments. Manufacturers usually make low form beakers from borosilicate glass, which can withstand high temperatures and chemical reactions.
