An atypical antipsychotic that antagonizes both central serotonin 5-HT2A (Ki = 0.42 nM) and dopamine D2 (Ki = 4.8 nM) receptors; also a potent agonist at serotonin 5-HT1A receptors (Ki = 3.4 nM) and an inverse agonist at 5-HT1B and 5-HT1D receptors (pKis = 8.8 and 8.6, respectively).
