A steroidal lactone present in W. somnifera that induces aggregation of vimentin, peripherin, neurofilament-triplet protein, and keratin intermediate filaments as well as disrupt the organization of microtubules and actin/microfilaments, causing apoptosis; potential anti-tumor agent to target metastatic cells.
