Vials are suitable basically to inject samples from an autosampler. They are available in various sizes, although 2 mL vials are more commonly used. Autosampler needle pierces through the cap during injection and withdraws the required aliquots of sample from the vials.
Application: It has been used in vapour trap for determining atmospheric water vapour for isotopic analysis. It has also been used in solid phase microextraction (SPME) combined with gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) method during the determination of oxidation of freeze-dried chicken myofibrils spiked with methyl linoleate.
