Lids have a corner notch on the A1 corner to correspond to the corner notches found on all Corning® microplates. Lids without a corner notch do not need to be oriented in any particular direction to be placed on Corning plates. These lids have a shorter skirt than standard lids. Neither style will fit Corning 2 µL 1536 well microplates. Thomas No. 6980A79 lid is only for use with 2 µL 1536 well microplates. The black Universal Lid is suitable for fluorescent and other light-sensitive assays. Other lids for 96 well units are available with a corner notch and condensation rings.
