The Universal Methylated Human DNA Standard is designed for use as control to assess the efficiency of bisulfite-mediated conversion of DNA in combination with the EZ DNA Methylation, EZ DNA Methylation- Gold, or EZ DNA Methylation-Direct kits.<br>The control DNA has been enzymatically modified in vitro with CpG Methylase, resulting in methylation at all cytosines in the dinucleotide sequence 5ÆàCpGà3Æ. The methylated cytosines remain unconverted following bisulfite treatment, whereas non-methylated cytosines are converted into uracils and detected as thymines following PCR. Each primer set has been specifically designed to amplify a fragment of the supplied DNA following bisulfite treatment.
