Sterikon® Plus indicators contain nutrient broth, sugar, a pH indicator and spores of apathogenic bacillus stearothermophilus. Following sterilization, the ampules must be incubated at 60°C for 24 to 48 hours. If sterilization is effective, the ampules will remain a red-violet color; if not, bacterial growth will occur, turning the ampules turbid and yellow.
NOTE: Not to be used to monitor sterilization of medical devices.
