Sodium phosphate dibasic anhydrous is a sodium salt of phosphoric acid. It is a white powder that is highly hygroscopic and water soluble.

Sodium phosphate dibasic has been used for preparing phosphate buffer which in turn is utilized in X-gal staining.

Sodium phosphate dibasic is an important component of running buffer of denaturing gel electrophoresis. It induces glomerular calcification as well as other nephrotic syndrome in Sprague-Dawley rats.
