Application: Sodium chlorite may be used in the following studies:
•Synthesis of chlorine dioxide.
•Oxidation of primary alcohols to the corresponding aldehydes and of the aldehydes to the corresponding carboxylic acids.
•As hydroxylating agent for the hydroxylation of androstenedione (steroid).
