Application: Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), Polyvidone, is a water-soluble polymer made from the monomer N-vinylpyrrolidone. PVP is soluble in water and other polar solvents. PVP is a component of nucleic acid (DNA & RNA) extraction buffers. Polyvinylpyrrolidone is a component of Denhardt′s Solution and is included at a concentration of 1% (w/v) in the standard 50X stock solution.
