General description: PKCι (protein kinase C ι) belongs to the protein kinase C family.

Biochem/physiol Actions: Protein kinase C ι (PKCι) is involved in Ras signaling. In colonic epithelium, it is an important regulator of oncogenic Ras. Transgenic mice which are constitutively expressing PKCι are at high risk of carcinogen-mediated colon carcinogenesis.
