General description: Peripherin is an intermediate filament protein. It is expressed in peripheral and enteric neurons. The gene encoding this protein is localized on rat chromosome 7.
Application: Applications in which this antibody has been used successfully, and the associated peer-reviewed papers, are given below.Immunohistochemistry (1 paper)The antibody has also been used for Western blotting.
Biochem/physiol Actions: eripherin has been linked with axonal extension and regeneration of nerve fibers. It also has a role in neurite outgrowth propagation. Peripherin is a substrate of protein kinase B/Akt. Phosphorylation of this protein is induced after nerve injury.
Immunogen: full-length recombinant rat peripherin.
Physical form: Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 1% bovine serum albumin and 15 mM sodium azide.
RIDADR: NONH for all modes of transport
