General description: The antibody reacts specifically with both native and recombinant human FGF2. It does not cross-react with human FGF1.
Application: Used in protein pin array assay to identify the interactive sequences in human αB crystalline protein. The antibody can be used for neutralization of the biological activity of FGF2 in cell culture.
Biochem/physiol Actions: Fibroblast Growth Factor Basic (also known as bFGF) is a pleotropic cytokine that that is a potent mitogenic factor. On binding to its cognate receptor tyrosine kinase, FGFR, bFGF is capable of activating pathways such as MAPK and PI3K and produce cellular effects in varied cell types. Fibroblast Growth Factor-basic is reported to induce proliferation of fibroblasts, differentiation, wound healing and regeneration, limb formation, tissue remodeling and angiogenesis.
Immunogen: recombinant human FGF2.
Physical form: Solution, 0.2 mum filtered, in phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4.
RIDADR: NONH for all modes of transport
