General description: ErbB-2 also refers as HER-2 or Neu is an oncogene which encodes a 185kD (p185) transmembrane growth factor orphan receptor. It has a pivotal role in signal transduction, where it can stimulate the signal even in the absence of ligand by forming heterodimers with erbB-1/EGF-R, erbB-3, and erbB-4 and hence can modifies ligand affinity. Monoclonal anti-c-erbB-2 antibody can be used to study the role of erbB-2 and its interaction with erbB family members as well as the cellular molecular mechanisms underlying tumor growth. It can also be used in microarray. Mouse anti-c-erbB-2 antibody reacts specifically with human c-erbB-2 protein.
Application: Monoclonal anti-c-erbB-2 antibody can be used in immunoprecipitation (0.5-1 μg/test) using RIPA lysate of cultured CB2 cells (CHO cell line transfected with erbB-2). It can also be used in indirect ELISA.
Immunogen: purified extracellular domain of human erbB-2 from transfected cells.
Physical form: Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.
RIDADR: NONH for all modes of transport
