Biochem/physiol Actions: Interleukin-2 (IL-2) is an immunomodulatory factor produced by certain subsets of T lymphocytes. This lymphoÂkine promotes long term growth of actiÂvated T cells and related cell types. IL-2 plays a role in the activation and proliferation of NK cells, induces gamma-interÂferon and B cell growth factor secretion, and modulates the expression of the IL-2 receptor.
Physical form: Lyophilized from a 0.2 mum filtered solution in 50 mM sodium phosphate buffer, pH 7.0, containing 0.1% human serum albumin per 0.1 mL of cytokine.
Analysis Note: The biological activity is tested in a cell proliferation assay using an IL-2 dependent murine cytotoxic T cell line, CTLL-2.
RIDADR: NONH for all modes of transport
