Synonym(s): Interleukin-2; T-cell growth factor
Purity: ≥95% (SDS-PAGE)
Analysis Note: The specific activity was determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of mouse CTLL-2 cells (mouse cytotoxic T cell line).
Preparation Note: HumanKine IL-2 expressed in human HEK 293 cells is a glycosylated monomer with a molecular mass of 15 kDa. Production in human HEK 293 cells offers authentic glycosylation. Glycosylation contributes to stability in cell growth media and other applications.
Legal Information: HumanKine is a registered trademark of HumanZyme Inc.
Biochem/physiol Actions: Interleukin-2 is an immunomodulatory factor produced by certain subsets of T lymphocytes. This lympho-¡kine promotes long term growth of acti-¡vated T cells and related cell types. Interleukin-2 plays a role in the activation and proliferation of NK cells, induces γ-inter-¡feron and B cell growth factor secretion, and modulates the expression of the IL-2 receptor.
Empirical Formula (Hill Notation): C6H4F2O
