UNSPSC Code: 12352202
Application: Factor Va is the activated form of Factor V. Factor V is a key component in blood coagulation systems, where deficiencies can inhibit thrombin generation and affect hemostasis. It has been used in studies of coagulopathic bleeding which occurs following injury and is a leading cause of hospital deaths.
Biochem/physiol Actions: Activated form of factor V and the cofactor of Xa. Factor Va is a component of the prothrombinase complex which contributes to the increased conversion rate of prothrombin to thrombin.
Linkage: View this factors role in the Coagulation Cascade
Physical form: Aqueous solution containing 50% (v/v) glycerol and 5mM CaCl2
Unit Definition: One unit is equivalent to the Factor V activity in 1.0 mL of normal human plasma at pH 7.4 at 37 C.
RIDADR: NONH for all modes of transport
