General description: Anti-kindlin-2 recognizes human, mouse, rat and canine kindlin-2. Kindlin-2, also known as fermitin family member 2 (FERMT2) or pleckstrin homology domain-containing family C member 1 (PLEKHC1), is encoded by the gene mapped to human chromosome 14q22.1. Kindlin-2 is a member of the kindlin protein family and has a ubiquitous expression pattern.
Application: Anti-kindlin-2 antibody produced in rabbit has been used in western blotting.
Biochem/physiol Actions: Kindlin-2 acts as a focal adhesion protein and controls breast cancer progression by promoting genome instability. Kindlin-2, as an integrin-interacting protein, plays a vital role in integrin activation and integrin-mediated cell-extracellular matrix (ECM) interaction. Kindlin-2 expression is associated with poor prognosis of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and pancreatic ductal adenocarcinomas (PDACs). Therefore, kindlin-2 can be considered as a potential biomarker for patients with HCC and PDACs.
Immunogen: synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 668-680 of human kindlin-2, conjugated to KLH. The corresponding sequence is identical in mouse, rat, canine and monkey.
Physical form: Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.
Other Notes: In order to obtain best results in different techniques and preparations we recommend determining optimal working concentration by titration test.
RIDADR: NONH for all modes of transport
