Biochem Physiol Actions: SGC-CK2-1 is a potent and highly selective casein 2 (CK2, CKII) inhibitor (CK2alpha/CK2alpha' IC50 = 4.2/2.3 nM by cell-free enzyme assay; DYRK2 IC50 = 440 nM, IC50>=3.4 muM against 465 other kinases). Unlike less specific CK2 inhibitors, SGC-CK2-1 shows no antiproliferation activity in HCT116 or U-87 MG cancer cultures (up to 10 muM) despite its potent cellular activity (CK2alpha/CK2alpha' IC50 = 36/16 nM by cellular NanoBRET assay).
