Selective Beta Strep Agar

Features:

• Contains 5% sheep blood, colistin, and trimethoprim sulfamethoxasole (SXT). For the selective isolation of Group A Strep only (S. pyogenes) and exhibits beta hemolysis. Inhibits other Streps, Gram negative bacteria, and normal respiratory flora. Not to be used for group B strep or pneumococcus.
• Preferred for isolating Group A Strep from throat cultures
• Contains 5% sheep blood from a veterinary supervised, controlled herd of donor animals. Blood is guaranteed to be from healthy antibiotic-free animals.
• Polystyrene Petri plates feature raised rings for stacking ability and prevents sliding.
• Packaged in sleeves of 10 plates in a "breathable" celluose bag that prevents build-up of condensation and excess moisture.
