Neomycin sulfate

Aminoglycoside with activity against many Gram-negative bacteria. Binds to ribosomal subunit and inhibits protein synthesis. Blocks voltage-sensitive Ca2+ channels. Used as a selective agent for the incorporation of the (APH3') gene.

Tissue culture tested.

Potency >600 μg/mg

Moisture <8.0%

A highly active antibiotic against gram-negative bacteria often used in cell culture.
