Tumor necrosis factor-a (TNF-a) is encoded by the gene mapped to human chromosome 6p21.3, within the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class III region. The encoded protein belongs to the TNF superfamily.
Storage: -20C
Application: Please refer to the attached Protocolfor details.Human tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-a) ELISA Kit has been used in enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) to quantify TNF-a in supernates of human acute lung infection model (ALIM), human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC) and human microvascular endothelial cells (HMEC-1).
Biochem Physiol Actions: Tumor necrosis factor-a (TNF-a) is a key immunomodulator and proinflammatory cytokine. It is implicated in the immune pathogenesis of various autoimmune, inflammatory diseases and hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. Mutation in the gene increases the risk of susceptibility to diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) and marginal zone lymphoma. In addition, polymorphism in the gene leads to obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and osteoarthritis (OA).
