Application: Primary Human Follicle Dermal Papilla Cells (HFDPC) are isolated mainly from human dermis of the scalp, originating from the occipital or temple region and are provided in a cryopreserved format. Information on donor hair and skin color is available on request. HFDPC stain positive for alkaline phosphatase.Dermal papillae are embedded in a laminin and collagen IV rich extracellular matrix at the base of the hair follicles. They are essential for the induction and maintenance of hair growth. Since they have androgen receptors, they can be used for in vitro screening of androgen blocking reagents.
