ß-Amyloid 1-42 is one of the major constituents of the neurofibrillary tangles and plaques characteristic of the Alzheimer brain. The Arctic mutation E22G causes early onset of Alzheimer's compared to wild type and promotes protofibril formation and neurotoxicity.
