Biochem Physiol Actions: FB23-2 is a cell penetrant, potent and specific inhibitor of N6-methyladenosine (m6A) demethylase FTO (fat mass and obesity associated protein) that RNA methylation in varies of AML cells. FB23-2 potently inhibits proliferation and promotes apoptosis and differentiation in human acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cells and primary blast AML cells lines and xenografts in mice. It minimally affects proliferation of human normal bone marrow cells.
