A potent, reversible inhibitor of 5-LO, in cell-free assays (IC50 = 86 nM), intact neutrophils (IC50 = 230 nM), and in whole blood (IC50 = 830 nM); significantly reduces both LT biosynthesis and inflammatory reactions in rats subjected to carrageenan-induced pleurisy.
