Bennet's HiVeg™ Agar is used for cultivation and enhancement of sporulation of Nocardia and Streptomyces. The medium contains nitrogenous nutrients such as yeast extract, HiVeg extract and HVeg hydrolysate. They also serve as sources of carbon and essential growth factors. Dextrose is an energy source. This medium is prepared by replacing animal peptones with vegetable defined peptones to avoid BSE/TSE/GMO risk.
- Appearance of powder: Light yellow colored, may have slightly greenish tinge, homogeneous, free flowing powder
- Gelling: Firm comparable with 1.5% Agar gel
- Color and Clarity: Light yellow colored, clear gel forms in petri plates
- Reaction of 2.9% w/v aqueous solution is pH 7.3 ± 0.2 at 25°C
- Cultural characteristics observed after an incubation at 25-30°C for 24-48 hours
