Azathioprine

A purine analog with immunosuppressive effects; serves as a prodrug for 6-mercaptopurine, which alters purine processing and DNA synthesis, interfering with lymphocyte proliferation; used to benefit IBD, as well as additional diseases with immunological or autoimmunological components.
