Antipain is a serine and cysteine reversible protease inhibitor. It inhibits papain and trypsin. Plasmin is inhibited to a small extent as well. More specific than leupeptin for papain and trypsin. Sequence: [(S)-1-Carboxy-2-Phenylethyl]-Carbamoyl-L-Arg-L-Val-Argininal-HCL-2H2O. M.W: 604.71 Working solutions: 1-100μM. Specific Activity: Varies with lot, IC50 is approximately 0.20μg/mL (papain/casein, pH 7.4 37C). Stable for several hours. Stock solutions of 10mM in water or buffer are stable for 1 week at 4ºC, 1 month at -20ºC. Also soluable in MeOH or DMSO. 5mg/827 microliters of water = 10mM solution.
