Transketolase (TKT) is an important thiamine-dependent enzyme in the PPP (pentose phosphate pathway). It is located on chromosome 3p21.
Synonyms: Anti-transketolase
Storage: -20C
Application: Anti-TKT has been used in immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence.
Biochem Physiol Actions: Transketolase (TKT) is essential for cell division, NADPH and nucleic acid synthesis. It plays an important role in redox homeostasis in cancer development. Suppression of TKT terminates HCC (hepatocellular carcinoma) growth in vivo. It has the ability to affect the NAPDH production to counteract oxidative stress.
