Biochem Physiol Actions: SNRPD3 (Small nuclear ribonucleoprotein Sm D3) encodes a protein that forms a core component of the spliceosomal snRNPs (small nuclear ribonucleoproteins). It is involved in the splicing of cellular pre-mRNAs. It forms a ring shaped core domain along with other Sm proteins on snRNA. It plays a role in histone 3'-end processing by being a part of U7 snRNP.
