SLFN11 (schlafen family member 11) protein contains a putative AAA (ATPases associated with diverse cellular activities) domain. The gene is mapped to human chromosome 17q12.
Synonyms: Anti-Schlafen family member 11
Storage: -20C
Application: All Prestige Antibodies(R)Powered by Atlas Antibodies is developed and validated by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project (www.proteinatlas.org). Each antibody is tested by immunohistochemistry against hundreds of normal and disease tissues. These images can be viewed on the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) site by clicking on the Image Gallery link. Biochem Physiol Actions: Schlafen (SLFN) genes are part of interferon-stimulated early response genes and are activated in the presence of pathogens by IRF3 (interferon regulatory factor 3) pathway. SLFN11 inhibits the generation of retroviruses, including human immunodeficiency virus 1 (HIV-1). It stops the production of viral proteins via codon-bias discrimination method. It also makes cancer cells sensitive to DNA-damaging agents.
