Solute carrier family 35 member A2 (SLC35A2) gene is mapped to human chromosome Xp11.23. This gene codes for Uridine diphosphate (UDP)-galactose transporter (UGT). UGT belongs to the family of nucleotide sugar transporters (NSTs). UGT1 and UGT2 are the two alternative splicing variants of UGT.
Synonyms: Anti-UGALT; Anti-UGAT; Anti-UGT; Anti-UGT1; Anti-UGT2; Anti-UGTL; Anti-solute carrier family 35 (UDP-galactose transporter), member A2
Storage: -20C
Application: Anti-SLC35A2 antibody produced in rabbit has been used in western blotting.
Biochem Physiol Actions: Uridine diphosphate (UDP)-galactose transporter (UGT) facilitates the transport of UDP-galactose to the Golgi apparatus. Short N-terminal region of UGT is responsible for galactosylation of N-glycans. Mutation in the gene is associated with the development of congenital disorders of glycosylation (CDG) and early-onset epileptic encephalopathy and developmental delay.
