Semaphorin 3D (SEMA3D) belongs to the group of semaphorin class 3 signaling molecules and is encoded by the gene mapped to human chromosome 7q21.11. SEMA3D is preferentially expressed in dermal fibroblasts.
Synonyms: Anti-Coll-2; Anti-Sema domain, immunoglobulin domain (Ig), short basic domain, secreted, (semaphorin) 3D; Anti-Sema-Z2

Application: All Prestige Antibodies Powered by Atlas Antibodies are developed and validated by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project (www.proteinatlas.org)and as a result, are supported by the most extensive characterization in the industry. The Human Protein Atlas project can be subdivided into three efforts: Human Tissue Atlas, Cancer Atlas, and Human Cell Atlas. The antibodies that have been generated in support of the Tissue and Cancer Atlas projects have been tested by immunohistochemistry against hundreds of normal and disease tissues and through the recent efforts of the Human Cell Atlas project, many have been characterized by immunofluorescence to map the human proteome not only at the tissue level but now at the subcellular level. These images and the collection of this vast data set can be viewed on the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) site by clicking on the Image Gallery link. Biochem Physiol Actions: Semaphorin 3D (SEMA3D) is a signaling protein which plays a vital role in endothelial cell migration. The encoded protein has the ability to promote angiogenesis during development and repress angiogenesis in cancer. Variation in SEMA3D gene expression has been observed in hirschsprung disease and schizophrenia patients. The protein might also have a role in airway remodeling. The protein binds to its receptor, plexinA4 and directs the peripheral branches out of the spinal cord.
