SCY1-like 3 (SCYL3) is a protein involved in regulating cell adhesion and migration. It has a kinase domain and four (huntingtin elongation factor 3 (EF3), protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) and yeast kinase TOR1) (HEAT) repeats.
Synonyms: Anti-Ezrin- binding protein PACE-1; Anti-Protein-associating with the carboxyl-terminal domain of ezrin; Anti-SCY1-like protein 3
Storage: -20C
Application: All Prestige Antibodies Powered by Atlas Antibodies are developed and validated by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project (www.proteinatlas.org)and as a result, are supported by the most extensive characterization in the industry. The Human Protein Atlas project can be subdivided into three efforts: Human Tissue Atlas, Cancer Atlas, and Human Cell Atlas. The antibodies that have been generated in support of the Tissue and Cancer Atlas projects have been tested by immunohistochemistry against hundreds of normal and disease tissues and through the recent efforts of the Human Cell Atlas project, many have been characterized by immunofluorescence to map the human proteome not only at the tissue level but now at the subcellular level. These images and the collection of this vast data set can be viewed on the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) site by clicking on the Image Gallery link. Biochem Physiol Actions: SCY1-like 3 (SCYL3) has two distinct intracellular localizations. A portion of the protein associates with the cytoplasmic face of the Golgi apparatus and this depends upon the presence of the SCYL3 N-terminal myristoylation consensus sequence but is not dependent on an association with a protein ezrin. Also, SCYL3 colocalises with ezrin in the lamellipodia, where ezrin has a role in cell spreading and motility.
