Biochem Physiol Actions: Sal-like protein 4 is a protein encoded by the SALL4 gene in humans. It mainly functions in developing different cancers and performing vital embryogenic roles. It is found to be associated with gastric cancer, hepatocellular cancer (HCC) and colorectal cancer (CRC). It has some role in All-trans retinoic acid (ATRA)-based regimes in case of leukemia therapy. It may also act as a biomarker for HCC.
