S100A7 (S100 calcium binding protein A7) is Ca2+-binding protein associated with the various cellular and extracellular activities. It is expressed in the ear, skin, tongue and stratified squamous epithelial tissues.

Biochem Physiol Actions: S100A7 (S100 calcium binding protein A7) controls the epidermal growth factor (EGF)-induced cell migration and the actin remodeling. It has been suggested that S100A7 may stimulate metastasis of ERa(-) breast cancer cells. Overexpression of S100A7 gene causes inflammatory stimuli.
