Synonyms: Anti-S100 calcium binding protein A13
Storage: -20C
Application: Anti-S100A13 antibody produced in rabbit, a Prestige Antibody, is developed and validated by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project (www.proteinatlas.org). Each antibody is tested by immunohistochemistry against hundreds of normal and disease tissues. These images can be viewed on the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) site by clicking on the Image Gallery link. The antibodies are also tested using immunofluorescence and western blotting. To view these protocols and other useful information about Prestige Antibodies and the HPA, visit sigma.com/prestige.
Biochem Physiol Actions: S100A13 (S100 calcium binding protein A13) is a calcium binding protein belonging to the S100 protein family. Generally, members of this family are associated with several cellular activities such as proliferation, motility, and survival. It has been reported that members of S100 family has clinical impact on tumor growth and disease progression. S100A13 has been accounted as a potential therapeutic target in papillary carcinomas (PTC), therefore it has the potential to be a novel candidate PTC biomarker. S100A13 also participates in cell signaling pathways relevant to cell cycle progression and differentiation, cytokine and NFKB signaling, and in melanoma progression and angiogenesis.
