RPB3 is one of 12 subunits that make up the complete RNA polymerase, Pol II, the primary RNA polymerase in cellular metabolism. RPB3 is part of the core element of Pol II complex. RPB3 has a central large cleft and the clamp element that moves to open and close the cleft during RNA synthesis. RPB3 naturally localizes to the nucleus and expressed in all cell types and tissues. RPB3 also plays critical roles in RNA splicing and capping, key items of RNA function.
Synonyms: RPB3, DNA-directed RNA polymerase II subunit RPB3, RNA polymerase II subunit 3, RNA polymerase II subunit B3, DNA-directed RNA polymerase II 33 kDa polypeptide, DNA-directed RNA polymerase II subunit C, RPB31
Application: Anti-RPB3 Antibody is an antibody against RPB3 for use in Western Blotting.
