Biochem Physiol Actions: Retinoic acid related orphan receptor A (RORA), a member of the retinoid-related orphan family of nuclear receptors, is a ligand-dependent transcription factor. RORA is widely expressed and enhances p53-dependent apoptosis. RORA is important for the development of the cerebellum and it is required for the maturation of photoreceptors in the retina.
