Biochem Physiol Actions: RNF149 (Ring finger protein 149) is an E3 ubiquitin ligase consisting of a RING finger domain and a zinc finger domain that binds two atoms of zinc. It is involved in several gene controlling activities including transcription, translation, cytoskeletal organization, cell adhesion, and epithelial development. During ubiquitination, it directly interacts with the C-terminal kinase-containing domain of BRAF. It induces proteasome-dependent degradation by this interaction. It may also negatively regulate the MEK-ERK pathway.
