Biochem Physiol Actions: RGS6 (regulator of G-protein signaling 6) gene encodes a protein belonging to the RGS (regulator of G protein signaling) family of proteins. These proteins contain an RGS domain that enhances the GTPase activity of G protein a subunits. These proteins function as negative regulators of G protein-mediated signaling pathways and control neuronal, cardiovascular, lymphocytic activities. RGS6 contains a GGL domain that interacts with Gß5.
