RBL2 (retinoblastoma-like 2) is a pocket protein belonging to the retinoblastoma (RB) family. It contains specific pocket domain responsible for protein-protein interaction.
Synonyms: Anti-130 kDa retinoblastoma-associated protein; Anti-PRB2; Anti-RBR-2; Anti-Retinoblastoma-like protein 2; Anti-p130

Application: All Prestige Antibodies Powered by Atlas Antibodies are developed and validated by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project (www.proteinatlas.org)and as a result, are supported by the most extensive characterization in the industry. The Human Protein Atlas project can be subdivided into three efforts: Human Tissue Atlas, Cancer Atlas, and Human Cell Atlas. The antibodies that have been generated in support of the Tissue and Cancer Atlas projects have been tested by immunohistochemistry against hundreds of normal and disease tissues and through the recent efforts of the Human Cell Atlas project, many have been characterized by immunofluorescence to map the human proteome not only at the tissue level but now at the subcellular level. These images and the collection of this vast data set can be viewed on the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) site by clicking on the Image Gallery link. Biochem Physiol Actions: RBL2 (retinoblastoma-like 2) is majorly involved in the cell cycle progression and exit. In association with other pocket proteins, it forms a multisubunit protein complex which restricts expression of cell cycle-dependent genes in quiescence. RBL2 plays a vital role in several stages of senescence process including initiation, and triggering. In G0-arrested cells, activated RBL2 forms a complex with E2F(E2 factor)-4, which binds DNA to control E2F target genes.
