Biochem Physiol Actions: PVR (Poliovirus receptor) is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin (Ig) superfamily. It consists of three Ig-like domains (V-C2-C2). Its expression has been reported on the surface of acute B lymphoid leukemia (B-ALL) cells. It is mainly involved in the cell motility and cell-substrate adhesion mechanism. The active involvement of PVR in the cancer cell adhesion and migration can prove to be an effective therapeutic solution.
