Synonyms: Anti-PCPE-2; Anti-Procollagen C-endopeptidase enhancer 2 precursor; Anti-Procollagen C-proteinase enhancer 2; Anti-Procollagen COOH- terminal proteinase enhancer 2
Storage: -20C
Application: Anti-PCOLCE2 antibody produced in rabbit, a Prestige Antibody, is developed and validated by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project (www.proteinatlas.org). Each antibody is tested by immunohistochemistry against hundreds of normal and disease tissues. These images can be viewed on the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) site by clicking on the Image Gallery link. The antibodies are also tested using immunofluorescence and western blotting. To view these protocols and other useful information about Prestige Antibodies and the HPA, visit sigma.com/prestige.
Biochem Physiol Actions: PCOLCE2 (Procollagen C-endopeptidase enhancer 2) gene encodes a glycoprotein that is also called as procollagen COOH-terminal proteinase enhancer (PCPE2). It binds the C-terminal propeptide of type I procollagen and facilitates its cleavage by certain proteinases. PCPE2 differs from PCPE1 in its glycosylation nature and its stronger affinity for heparin. The gene is mapped to human chromosome 3.
