General description: NOS1 (nitric oxide synthase 1) is one of the NOS (nitric oxide synthase) isoforms found in the heart. It is located on human chromosome 12q24.2-31. It is mainly localized in the sarcoplasmic reticulum (SR).
Application: Anti-NOS1 (Ab-852) antibody has been used in immunocytochemistry .
Biochem/physiol Actions: NOS (nitric oxide synthase) produce nitric oxide in the heart. It regulates myocardial function and plays an important role in the remodeling of human (ICM) ischemic cardiomyopathy.
Immunogen: Peptide sequence around aa. 850-854 (F-N-S-V-S), according to the protein NOS1.
Physical form: Solution in phosphate-buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol
Target description: Produces nitric oxide (NO) which is a messenger molecule with diverse functions throughout the body. In the brain and peripheral nervous system, NO displays many properties of a neurotransmitter.
RIDADR: NONH for all modes of transport
