Biochem Physiol Actions: KRT23 (Keratin 23) is a novel acidic keratin protein belonging to the acidic keratin family. It controls the structural balance of the epithelial cells and controls cellular signaling processes. It is also involved in the regulation of cell apoptosis. It has been reported that KRT23 shows induced expression in pancreatic cancer cells during differentiation of pancreatic cancer cells through histone hyperacetylation.
