KN motif and ankyrin repeat domains 2 (KANK2) belongs to the KANK family. This protein is made up of an N-terminal KN motif, a coiled-coil domain and an ankyrin domain. The KANK2 gene is located on the human chromosome at 19p13.2.
Synonyms: Anti-Ankyrin repeat domain-containing protein 25; Anti-KN motif and ankyrin repeat domain-containing protein 2; Anti-Matrix-remodeling-associated protein 3; Anti-SRC-1-interacting protein; Anti-SRC1-interacting protein
Storage: -20C
Application: Anti-KANK2 antibody produced in rabbit has been used in immunoblotting.
Biochem Physiol Actions: KANK2 (also known as SIP) acts as a novel regulator in caspase-independent and apoptosis-inducing factor (AIF)-mediated apoptosis. It functions in regulating the transcription regulators by sequestering steroid receptor coactivators (SRC) in the cytoplasm. It also buffers the availability of these coactivators.
