Biochem Physiol Actions: ITGB2 (integrin, ß 2) is a transmembrane receptor expressed in neutrophils and other leukocytes. It acts as adhesion protein to drive neutrophil adhesion to the endothelial cells in response to inflammation and immune responses. ITGB2 also performs as signaling molecules. Chemokine receptor stimulated integrins enhance the binding probability of integrins to their ligands in the extracellular matrix, which finally promotes actin polymerization as well as integrin-cytoskeleton connection.
